This Privacy Policy explains how Bunkr Golf ("Bunkr," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Bunkr mobile application, websites, and related services (the "Service").

Bunkr is a social golf scoring and live-round app. Users can create a profile, record golf rounds, calculate and track golf-related statistics, connect with friends, join groups, send messages, create or join events and tournaments, and subscribe to premium features.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and limited information from third-party services needed to operate the app.

Account and profile information may include:

  • Email address, if provided or received through Sign in with Apple
  • Apple account identifier or authentication identifier
  • Supabase user ID
  • Invite code and referral or invitation information
  • Profile settings and privacy preferences
  • Home course, home club, playing frequency, and similar optional profile details

Golf and gameplay information may include:

  • Rounds you create or join
  • Course name, tee color, course rating, slope rating, hole pars, yardages, stroke indexes, scores, statistics, score-to-par, and round dates
  • Handicap-related data, including provisional handicap information, calculated handicap, handicap source/status, handicap eligible holes, and handicap update timestamps
  • Live round information, including whether a round is live, viewer activity, chat activity, and completion status
  • Event, tournament, RSVP, team, and leaderboard information

Social and communication information may include:

  • Friends, friend requests, groups, group memberships, invites, and shared group information
  • Direct messages, group messages, live round chat messages, comments, and related metadata
  • Message delivery, read state, mute settings, and notification preferences

Subscription and purchase information may include:

  • StoreKit transaction ID and original transaction ID
  • Product ID
  • Purchase date, start date, expiry date, cancellation or revocation information where available
  • Trial or promotional offer status
  • Subscription status synced between Apple, the app, and our backend

Device, app, and technical information may include:

  • APNs device token for push notifications
  • Notification settings and push delivery logs
  • App version and build number
  • Basic diagnostic logs needed to operate, debug, secure, and improve the Service
  • UserDefaults or local app settings, such as distance unit and onboarding state

Location information:

  • If you grant permission, the app may use your device location to help find nearby golf courses, calculate distance to courses, or support course selection.
  • Location may be processed on device and may be sent to a golf course data provider when you request nearby course search.
  • We do not use location for third-party advertising or tracking.

Course search information:

Search queries, course identifiers, and course selections may be processed to provide golf course search and course details.

3. Information We Do Not Intend To Collect

Bunkr is not designed to collect sensitive personal information such as health records, government identifiers, financial account numbers, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, or precise biometric identifiers.

Do not submit sensitive personal information through profile fields, messages, group names, comments, or other free-text areas.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Authenticate you, including through Sign in with Apple and Supabase Auth
  • Provide golf scoring, round history, stats, handicap-related features, events, tournaments, groups, messages, and live round features
  • Show your profile, rounds, groups, events, and activity according to your privacy settings and sharing choices
  • Process subscriptions, trials, promotional offers, restore purchases, and subscription status
  • Send push notifications you have enabled or that are necessary for core app features
  • Help you find friends, groups, courses, events, and live rounds
  • Provide customer support
  • Export your data or delete your account when requested
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Improve app reliability, performance, and user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Your username, name, profile details, handicap-related display values, home course, rounds, live round activity, group membership, messages, comments, events, tournament participation, and leaderboard information may be visible to other users depending on your settings, the feature used, and the audience of the group, event, round, or conversation.
  • Messages and shared content may be visible to conversation participants, group members, event participants, or users you choose to share with.

With service providers:

  • Supabase: authentication, database hosting, storage, edge functions, realtime features, and backend services
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store, StoreKit, subscriptions, purchase processing, APNs push notifications, and app distribution
  • GolfCourseAPI: golf course search and course details
  • Mapping or directions services available on your device when you request directions

For legal, safety, and security reasons:

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, respond to legal process, protect users, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Bunkr Golf, users, or the public.

Business transfers:

If Bunkr Golf is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

Bunkr Golf and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including Australia, the United States, and other countries where our providers operate.

Some information may remain visible to others where you shared it in a group, message thread, event, tournament, live round, or other collaborative feature.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.

General retention approach:

  • Account/profile data is kept while your account is active.
  • Round, score, group, message, event, and tournament data is kept while needed to provide those features.
  • Subscription records are kept as needed for subscription access, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
  • Device tokens and notification logs are kept while needed to deliver and deduplicate notifications.
  • Temporary export files may be stored locally or temporarily until shared or cleared.
  • Backup and security logs may remain for a limited period after deletion.

When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to legal obligations, technical limitations, backup retention, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and information that must remain for other users' legitimate use of shared conversations, groups, events, tournaments, or records.

No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple account, and app access secure.

Bunkr is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the Service.

If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your location, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Bunkr may automatically calculate golf-related values such as handicap status, score summaries, eligibility markers, leaderboards, event standings, notification routing, and subscription access.

These calculations are used to provide app functionality and are not intended to produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

15. Tracking And Advertising

Bunkr does not use third-party tracking for advertising. Bunkr does not sell personal information. Bunkr does not share personal information for targeted advertising.

If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required notices or choices.

The Service may contain links or integrations with third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Relevant third parties may include Apple, Supabase, GolfCourseAPI, and mapping or directions providers.
